How We Began
The Cocoa Beach Alumni Association was formed in the fall of 2001 after the 2001 Combined Reunion. The 2001 reunion brought together the classes of 1965-1970, the six classes that opened Cocoa Beach Junior-Senior High School in the fall of 1964. This web site was developed in order to help unite these classes and has now expanded to include all classes of CBHS.

Goals
The CBAA's goals include helping to keep the alumni together and "to make Cocoa Beach High School, Roosevelt Elementary School, Freedom 7 Elementary School for International Studies, and Cape View Elementary School the best places for the children that reside there." In order to keep us connected the CBAA pays to keep the site ad free.

Membership
If the goals of the CBAA are your goals, help by joining the Cocoa Beach Alumni Association. You can download the membership form to join. Your membership includes a quarterly mailed newsletter “The Light”. All of our work for this site and the Association is voluntary, so if you have skills that we could use, please feel free to help in any way that you would like.

Adopt-A-ShoreNews: CBAA ADOPTS MINUTEMEN CAUSEWAY
Cocoa Beach Alumni Association, Inc. has adopted the Minutemen Causeway through the Keep Brevard Beautiful organization. Because it is a causeway, it is under the "Adopt-A-Shore" program, rather than the Adopt-A-Road program, but the two programs work the same way. Keep Brevard Beautiful provides a sign, coordination with government agencies responsible for the road, sunscreen, tools, training and orientation for the project. The Alumni Association provides the person-power, organizing groups of volunteers to clean up the road side and water's edge along Minutemen Causeway from the end of the residential area, past Roosevelt Elementary School and Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School. Plans are underway for the first cleanup event in the spring of this year, and at least every 3 months thereafter. This is a great opportunity for our alumni and others in the community to be actively involved in a project that will benefit not only the students, faculty and staff who travel Minutemen Causeway to school each day, but the whole community. Service clubs at the school will be invited to join us as volunteers, thus fulfilling their required service hours and having fun while getting to know our alumni group. For further information, or to volunteer, contact Brenda Snider (CBHS 67) Teixeira - telephone 321-632-5401 or email tex1@mindspring.com.
